A Visual Journey Through the Old Town

The goal of this personal project was to create a series of photos that capture the charm, history, and vibrant life of Malaga’s Old Town. I wanted to showcase the architectural beauty, the atmospheric streets, and the unique lifestyle that make this place so special. The images were meant to inspire others to explore the Old Town and appreciate its timeless appeal.
Creative Approach
I set out to create a collection that feels alive - a balance of grand, sweeping shots of iconic landmarks and close, intimate details that tell the story of this magical place. For me, it wasn’t just about taking pretty pictures; it was about revealing the soul of Malaga.
I wanted every photo to reflect the textures, colors, and energy that make the Old Town unforgettable.

Landmarks and Architecture:
I captured the light dancing on cobblestone streets, the intricate patterns of wrought-iron balconies, and the beauty of historic facades. Each shot highlights the elegance of Malaga’s design.Cultural Moments:
Wandering the streets, I documented the life of the Old Town—the laughter of vendors at markets, the quiet moments of residents enjoying their day, and small details like fresh flowers spilling from windows.Details and Textures:
I love looking closer: I zoomed in on vibrant tiles, carved wooden doors, and the textures of stucco walls that tell stories of craftsmanship. Those small details hold so much beauty and character.
My Style Choices
Lighting: Golden hour was my best friend here. The warm, soft light brought a magical glow to the streets and gave everything an inviting depth.
Compositions: I mixed wide, sweeping shots with tighter frames to create a balance between the big picture and the intimate details.
Color Palette: Malaga’s colors are so vibrant and earthy—terracotta tones, vibrant ceramics, and sunlight filtering through leaves. I leaned into those natural hues to create warmth and life in every shot.
The Mood:
I wanted the photos to feel real, not overly polished or staged. It was important for me to keep the authenticity of the Old Town intact, letting the charm of daily life shine through.
Every image tells a story, and together they weave a narrative about this beautiful, soulful place.
Results
This wasn’t just a photography project for me—it was an opportunity to blend technical skills with personal storytelling.
