L’Artisan Des Glaces Cinnamon Apple Streusel Ninja Creami
There are flavours that don’t simply taste good; they take you somewhere. For me, cinnamon and apple will always feel like autumn arriving quietly at the kitchen door, apples gathered into bowls, butter melting in a warm pan and that unmistakable scent of spice drifting through the cottage.
This recipe was inspired by the Cinnamon Caramel Apple ice cream from L’Artisan des Glaces in EPCOT’s France Pavilion, one of those gloriously indulgent Disney treats that stays tucked away in your memory long after the holiday is over.
My version brings a little of that magic home. A softly spiced Jersey milk ice cream, rippled with maple-sweetened apple compote and buttery cinnamon streusel, with plenty more scattered over the top for good measure.
Cold ice cream might not be the obvious partner for the cosy flavours of baked apple and cinnamon, but somehow that’s exactly why it works. Creamy, fruity, buttery, crumbly, every spoonful has a little bit of everything.
Proof, perhaps, that you don’t always need a plane ticket to find a little Disney magic. Sometimes you just need a Ninja Creami, a couple of apples and an unreasonable amount of streusel.
The components take little time to prepare but are the key to this spectacular treat.
Just be careful, these bowls tend to disappear quickly, one munch is obligatory each time you pass….
The high milk content and zero cream in this recipe makes it more akin to gelato than ice cream, silky and light, the perfect combination.
Whether you are a cone or a cup lover, this treat has you covered, texture and that unctuous creamy mouthfeel…
But there is no mistaking the joy to be had in licking ice cream from a cone, childhood relived.
In times where we need to focus on self love, why not transport yourself away from the comfort of your own home, staycations have never been more fun.
So read the book, walk barefoot in the grass and enjoy the ice cream, make your own happiness….
