As we transition into Spring, I find myself embracing all that is good about abundancy and warmer climes a little too wholeheartedly. You’ll see me wandering the woodland, foraging for plants, in a summer dress, freezing cold….

So, this Hot Chocolate bridges the gap. Infused with the herbal, grassy scent of Oat Straw and Meadowsweet, it sings of the balmy days to come, but has all the warming comfort of a rich, dark hot chocolate….

Oat Straw & Meadowsweet Hot Chocolate

Infused with the herbal, grassy scent of Oat Straw and Meadowsweet, it sings of the balmy days to come, but has all the warming comfort of a rich, dark hot chocolate….

Ingredients

• 680ml Almond Milk
• 1tbsp Dried Meadowsweet
• 1tbsp Dried Oat Straw
• 2tbsp Maple Syrup/ Raw Honey
• 100g Dark Chocolate, 70% Cocoa
• Small Pinch Himalayan Sea Salt

Instructions

1. Add the milk and herbs to a small saucepan and heat over a low heat. Allow to infuse for 15 minutes off the heat.
2. Strain through a fine strainer and add the chocolate. Heat again over a low heat until just melted.
3. Add the sweetener and salt and whisk until frothy. Divide between two mugs and serve straight away.
