Rose Gin Martini

It’s all too easy to name a Vodka or Gin based drink a ‘Martini’ But what REALLY makes this ubiquitous drink. The base for a start: Vodka provides the ABV when bold flavours override any subtle nuances. Gin provides complex botanicals that can shine in their own right.

Do you go Dry or Wet? Dry Martinis are typically 1:5 Vermouth to Gin, Wet generally are 3:5 Making it lower ABV

Shaken or stirred? Shaking will generally break off shards of Ice that can dilute your final drink, it can also affect the silky texture of high alcohol liquids… but the choice remains yours.

So next time you label a recipe ‘Martini’ consider all these factors, your drink will thank you for it…
