Zero Alcohol Maple Spiced Old Fashioned

This Maple Old Fashioned, kissed with warm spice and sweetened with amber maple, is my ode to slow moments, quiet fires, and hearts wrapped in soft knits.

A drink not to escape, but to savour — with the ones who make you feel most like home.

Ingredients

• 60ml Naesip non-alcoholic gin
• 1 tsp pure maple syrup
• 2 dashes orange bitters (non-alcoholic)
• 1 dash aromatic bitters (non-alcoholic or alcohol-free alternative)
• 1 thin strip orange peel
• 1 small stick cinnamon
• Optional: a drop of vanilla extract for extra warmth

Instructions

1. In a mixing glass, stir together the Naesip gin, maple syrup, and bitters over ice until well chilled.
2. Ignite the cinnamon stick and let it go out, invert your glass over the smoking stick for 3 minutes.
3. Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
4. Express the orange peel over the glass by twisting it to release the oils, then drop it in.
5. Garnish with the cinnamon stick or dried orange wheel for that beautiful aromatic hit.
6. Sip slowly and let the warmth of autumn wrap around you.
